Let me introduce myself, Hey! and Welcome to Shakira Winston Designs/Artistic Lefty.  Growing up in a small town in Georgia I realized quite early that I enjoyed everything art. Whether it was Poetry, Pottery, Cartoons etc. Anything art related I wanted to be a part of. I Graduated from Troup High School, I took art classes all throughout my middle/high school days to improve my skills as a Mixed Media artist. While learning the basics of shading and the grid method I took a BIG interest in cartoons, I would come home from school and go straight in my room and grab my sketchbook. I would buy cartoon coloring books just to draw the images out the books. (Which I still have all the books till this day) I would just draw not to color but just draw because that brought me peace and knowing that I could drawing something just by looking at an Image or reference photo was my joy every day I got out of school. Starting off I never took my gift serious I would show my parents, and they would advise me to start selling them, so of course I took their advice. Artboards was never my first option to start drawing on, cardboard was the first thing I started drawing on, the texture gave me a challenge because the ridges were very difficult to draw on but I was determined to do it. Unfortunately, I started to notice that you couldn't clear cardboard so that's when I turned to artboards. The smooth texture of the boards allowed me to not only use color pencils for 75% of my drawings but markers las well. Where all still learning our way in the artist world and I was blessed to receive an amazing gift from God that I love! I enjoy seeing the reactions on faces when they realize that all of my art is not paint, and how intrigued they get on how did I come up with the creative pieces of my work. I am always looking to grow as an artist and bring creativity to your homes. My work is definitely a conversation starter and something you can enjoy for a lifetime!
